How CMD Electric uses it
A credential should improve the project—not replace job-specific planning.
A smart electrical panel can provide circuit-level visibility and control, but it still has to be planned as part of the home's service, connected loads and future electrification goals. SPAN authorization gives CMD Electric access to the manufacturer installation path for projects where that capability is a genuine fit.
We consider SPAN for homeowners planning EV charging, major electric equipment or broader energy-management improvements. It is not the automatic answer for every panel project, so we compare the desired features, existing electrical system and project budget before recommending a conventional or smart-panel approach.

SPAN describes SPAN Panel as a whole-home energy-management system that lets homeowners monitor and manage individual circuits through the SPAN Home app. Dynamic load management can support planning for EV charging and other large electrical loads, but every project still requires a site-specific electrical evaluation.
